Playlist: Best of Odd Future

It’s over a decade since The Odd Future Tape dropped. A few of Odd Future’s members have made it big; a lot of them have faced controversy. Here are a few of their hits.

Mike G – ‘Forest Green’, 12 Odd Future Songs

Energetic, catchy, a lot more listenable than a lot of other OF’s early songs.

Tyler, The Creator – ‘Yonkers’, Goblin

Full of dark, hateful lyrics, this is Tyler as the troubled young outcast he was at the start of Odd Future. Compared to Eminem, but only for the violent themes. Great synths and bass though.

Mellow Hype ft. Earl Sweatshirt – ‘Copkiller’, Yellowhite

From Duo Hodgy Beats and Left Brain’s first album, featuring fellow OFWGKTA member Earl Sweatshirt, a slightly amateurish song saved by Hodgy and Earl’s flow.

Earl Sweatshirt ft. Tyler, The Creator – ‘Sasquatch’, Doris

Still sinister, but definitely on the way to later, more professional work.

Frank Ocean ft. Earl Sweatshirt – ‘Super Rich Kids’, Channel ORANGE

The first member of Odd Future to achieve popular acclaim, a lot of Oxford students can probably relate to the themes of this song.

The Internet – ‘Roll (Burbank Funk)’, HIVE MIND

Featuring former OF members Syd and Matt Martians, The Internet deliver amazing basslines and even better production. This song is no exception.

Tyler, The Creator – ‘PUPPET’, IGOR

In this smooth collaboration with Kanye from his recent album, and his first album to reach Number 1, Tyler shows how far he’s come from the hateful, lost man on the Goblin and the Odd Future Tapes.

Odd Future – ‘Oldie’, The OF Tape Vol. 2

A playful track, ‘Oldie’ showcases everything that’s best about early Odd Future. It even has Frank Ocean rapping- the video is really sweet.
