The Best Looks from the 2018 Oscars
On Sunday the 90th Academy Awards took place at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, hosted by Jimmy Kimmel.
So far the 2018 awards season has seen stars arrive at ceremonies such as the Golden Globes and the BAFTAs in all black in solidarity with Time’s Up, the movement fighting to put an end to sexual harassment. Colour, however, has returned to the red carpet as organisers of the campaign are keen to ensure it is not just seen as an awards show protest, but as a much broader campaign fighting for the end of harassment for all.
As usual, stars from around the globe did not fail to dress to impress; here are our top five looks from the night:
1. Rita Moreno
Rita Moreno wowed attendees and viewers when she arrived wearing the same stunning black and gold dress she wore to the Oscars in 1962, the ceremony where she won Best Supporting Actress for her role as Anita Palacio in the musical West Side Story.
2. Lupita Nyong'o
Also wowing the crowds in a black and gold gown was Lupita Nyong’o, in Atelier Versace. The actress stars in the recently released box office sensation Black Panther, so far the highest grossing film of the year.
3. Nicole Kidman
Nicole Kidman wore a show-stealing blue Armani Privé gown accessories with Harry Winston jewellery.
4. Emma Stone
Emma Stone proved it doesn't have to be a dress to impress as she owned the red carpet in a spectacular silk suit by Louis Vuitton.
5. Betty Gabriel
Completing our top five line up is Get Out actress Betty Gabriel, who commanded the spotlight with her Tony Ward Couture dress.
